Utterly Ltd ("Utterly", "we", "us") operates the website www.utter.ly (the "Website"). We are a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17180565), registered office Unit 4B Austin Park, Yeoman Road, Ringwood, BH24 3FG.
We are the data controller for personal data collected through this Website. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number ZC184569.
Important: Utterly is not a law firm. Utterly is a technology and platform company. We do not provide legal services and we are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Legal services are provided by our separate specialist law firms (for example, Settlement Agreement Solicitors), each an independent legal entity, separately regulated, and a separate data controller for the personal data it processes in delivering legal services. What this notice covers
How we collect and use personal data when you use the Website, for example when you make a general enquiry or browse. It does not cover personal data processed by our law firms when providing legal services. If you contact us about a role, we handle your message and any CV you send as an enquiry (see "How long we keep your data"); where vacancies are advertised through a dedicated recruitment platform, applications made there are covered by that platform's own privacy notice.

We do not seek special category data through this Website. Please do not send us sensitive personal information, or details of a legal matter, through general enquiry channels.

Who we share your data with
A small number of trusted providers acting on our instructions:
- Website hosting: Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Europe region)
- Email: Google Workspace (enquiries to hello@utter.ly)
- Trustpilot A/S: we link to Settlement Agreement Solicitors' verified reviews on Trustpilot; no Trustpilot code runs on this site unless you click through
- Analytics: none. We use no analytics or tracking service.
We may also disclose data where required by law, to establish or defend legal claims, or in a business reorganisation. We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Our providers (Google) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including UK adequacy regulations and the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep your data
- Enquiries: up to 12 months after our last contact with you.
- Aggregated or anonymised data: indefinitely.
Your rights
You may access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, request portability, and (where we rely on consent) withdraw consent at any time. Contact us to exercise any right; we respond within one month.
