Ringwood, UK — April 2026 — BriefCase, the case-management and AI platform built by Utterly, has now handled more than 30,000 settlement agreements.
BriefCase is the engine supporting every Utterly firm. It carries the administration, the workflow and the AI assistance that sit behind each matter, so solicitors spend their time on the law and the client rather than on process. Built once and run across every firm, it is how Utterly stands up a new specialist practice without rebuilding the back office each time.
The 30,000 agreements, built from start up in just five years, represent the work run through the platform to date across the group. As the number grows, so does the platform's ability to handle the next matter faster and more consistently.
"BriefCase is the reason we can promise a fixed fee and still do careful work. It takes the process off the solicitor's desk so they can spend their time on the client. Thirty thousand agreements in, it keeps getting better at that," said Patrick Knight, Founder and Group CEO of Utterly.
About Utterly
Utterly is a legal-tech group that builds, owns and operates specialist consumer law firms in the UK, each covering a single field of law on a fixed fee and running on Utterly's own platform. Utterly is a technology and platform company, not a law firm; legal services are provided by its separate, independently regulated firms. Its first firm, Settlement Agreement Solicitors, is live; further firms are in build.
